Olivia Burton, 23, is moving to California with her boyfriend Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of their respective families. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who does not support her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of violent and religiously themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers adjust to their exciting new life together. However, their happiness is cut short after a bizarre accident leaves Francis physically and mentally injured. Soon he suffers from night terrors, whispering to Olivia’s unseen figure in his sleep and sleepwalking to strange corners of the house. These episodes frighten Olivia and also make her think that Francis may be hiding something from her. Her investigation leads to a horrifying and twisted discovery; they are haunted by the ghost of Francis’ childhood youth minister—a being enraged by their cohabitation and come to punish them for their sins.
