All the most important and interesting about E3 2016
The announcement of Battlefield 1 divided people into two unequal camps: those to whom the character of the Great War seemed not compatible with the spirit of the Battlefield series, and everyone else. But EA behaved with brilliant caution, managing not to step on the tail of either one or the other.
Presentation on E3 divorced us finally.
The days of the past future
Cautious announcement Battlefield 1 reported little about the game. Everyone imagined it in their own way, but we suspected that the journey during the First World War would not particularly change the essence of Battlefield. And not in vain suspected.
A solid piece of gameplay and a new trailer was shown on E3 generously. The latter is in full accordance with the atmosphere of the series: dynamic, sharp, cold -blooded. And you expected a trench mud and intestines with blood under your feet? Sorry, here we have Battlefield. Now the First World War will find a fashionable appearance, and not as somewhere in Verdun or Valiant Hearts , where the war is shown as the war usually happens.
► Somewhere in these trenches, corporal Hitler rushes with the dispatches. Provide the service for travelers in time?
Battlefield 1 "in the field" clearly shows how alien to it is the military thought of the beginning of the 20th century. Trenches on the card shown are found a couple of times: to drive a player in a trap of fish soil and rotten logs is not the most reasonable idea with such and such dynamics. The fighters of the Entente and the Triple Union do not crawl in plastuna (if only occasionally, when they are cool), do not hide behind horse corpses and do not wear gas masks, because no one will release a gas charge in them ..
However, chemical weapons still promise. Dice is very rested on the fact that that war is primarily terrible chaos. In the sense that the First World War marked the transition between traditional and modern military thought. It happened that because of the helm of the plane, they shot on the ground from a pistol, cavalry stumbled on tanks, and infantry with carbines with a flat system was under the fire of a new artillery.
All this in Dice is remembered (even if in the demo with E3 did not show anything like it), and for ignorance of the history of the authors it is hardly worth blaming. But their strange selectivity will nevertheless recall. The Triple Union is represented by the German Empire-Austria-Hungary, of course, was left behind the scenes, because then the Eastern Front would have to work out.
But why is the whole of the Entente only UK and the USA are available to us, which were involved in the war under the curtain? Why, damn it, France, whose soldiers died entire shelves on the approaches to Paris, left on DLC? We really do not ask about the Russian Empire or about the Turks – ignoring them even too simple. But France for what is the nation that took over the main blow of the German military vehicle on the Western Front?
► We will still see videos like "How to jump on horseback on a horse in the gondola of the airship". The mechanics have.
A spear capable of shooting
How Battlefield 1 is played? You grab a weapon and download your head in battle. You maneuver a lot and almost do not stand still. You throw in pursuit of the unfinished enemy and rush yourself, having broken the excess bullet. The life does not spoil life too much: the fighter tolerates several hits relatively safely, only in his eyes there is a red veil.
It would seem that the technique and weapons move to the beginning of the 20th century must certainly affect. But Dice got out here, not wanting to torment the player with rifles with a shutter characteristic of those years. No, they are in the game – for example, the famous Gewehr 98 – but such weapons migrated more likely to the discharge of sniper, although during the First World War, store rifles served as the main weapon.
In Battlefield 1, there are anomalously a lot of automatic weapons: it is clear that the inability to release after the escaping enemy will be distinguished destructively at the speed of the game. Therefore, mostly here they are fighting browning machine guns with a overgrown store sticking out in the middle of the screen and terrible homunculi like MR 18 TR. And the non -automatic weapon shoots quickly enough so that the player does not have enough Kondrashka, until the shutter is diverted and moved forward.
► the story campaign will be crowded: over the four years of the war on the Western Front, positions moved slightly – now in one direction, then in the other.
That before the technique, which at the beginning of the twentieth century timidly crawled into the battlefields, it was still modified for the sake of historical reliability. Airplanes, wooden biplans and trips are weak and slow, crashing into the ground (or into the mill) is now easier than ever. Early wedges are sluggishly shooting their machine guns, occasionally diluting this shackle symphony with shots of the main caliber. They die quickly, but in the right hands their fire power will be very formidable.
The crash of "Hindenburg"
The main bow from the Dice of the chosen era is gigantic Tsepellins, firly hovering over the ruins. They are really huge, and their peaceful appearance is deceptive: large -caliber guns are installed in the gondolas of the airships, which is convenient to shoot at the miserable infantry. And the death of the aircraft is a real disaster: all this huge one honestly collapses on the heads of the soldiers, without analyzing his own and strangers.
The battlefield after that changes dramatically – so the Levolution system has been embodied in Battlefield 1. There were still few during the First World Skyscrapers, and even in the border regions of France and Germany – and even more so, so the falling airships came very much to the court. Only you will not think about it when the stratostat covered with flame and fun will fall on you, adding an already apocalyptic picture.
► The value of the airships, of course, is exaggerated. But we are already grateful to Kirov from Command & Conquer for our happy childhood, so here we will forgive the liberty.
* * *
The war that Battlefield 1 shows is more taken from propaganda newspapers https://fortune-clock-gb-casino.co.uk/ that appealed to patriotism (“We will return home before Christmas!"), War with fanfares and banners. This is not a real war, which was painted by Remarque, Barbus and Hemingway: where the soldiers are fighting with rot and bugs, and then fly to pieces from the artillery.
But reproaching Battlefield 1 in this would not be very honest. The series runs into the past from the tedious setting of the cybernetic war of the future and from not the most successful experience with police everyday life. Already, a new part is played cheerfully, and if you are ready to close your eyes to historical wildness, you will be joy.
Not ready? Then go to Verdun: there is a dirty trench war, where a “vanshit” even a miracle shot a firing stick.
